A British actor leaves behind his Hollywood career to volunteer with the Kurdish YPG forces fighting ISIS in Syria. While some view him as a courageous hero battling a dangerous enemy, others suspect he's a self-absorbed individual seeking publicity. The film explores the controversy surrounding his actions and the complicated aftermath when he returns home, finding neither the UK nor the US willing to welcome him. Featuring interviews with the actor, his supporters, critics, and experts, alongside helmet-cam footage of intense battles and interrogations, the documentary offers a unique perspective on the fight against ISIS and the man’s controversial involvement.
