Alan Ladd stars as Duncan Craig, who joins a whaling ship after his own business deal fails and to help Judie Nordhall locate her missing father. Rumors suggest her father was slain by Erik Bland, the son of her father’s former partner and erstwhile lover. Craig and Bland clash in competing whaleboats, their rivalry culminating on an ice floe.
