In Montreal, 1992, Stan, a somewhat eccentric 19-year-old, attempts to reconnect with his mother, who is battling cancer. He enrolls in a therapy workshop for patients with disfigurements, disguising himself in a misguided effort to bridge the distance between them. The experience leads him on an unexpected and poignant journey of self-discovery.
