After a city robbery and murder, gang boss Kedge Darvas and his men flee by train to a quiet Idaho town, posing as wealthy investors. The townspeople welcome them, but Darvas decides the settlement is ripe for takeover and summons more armed gangs. Their arrival ends with Sheriff Posey Meed’s murder, prompting cowhand Brad Farley, who notices Darvas’s interest in Sue Vancey, to rally the townsfolk in response.
