A boogie‑woogie piano opens the short film, presenting a jitterbug tutorial starring prize‑winner Arthur Walsh and his partner, followed by several other couples. The lesson begins with steps borrowed from dances such as the waltz, then accelerated. Walsh demonstrates basic moves, but the rapid tempo prevents the narrator from fully describing them. The finale features a fast‑paced showcase by various adult couples—mostly white, with a brief appearance by two children—performed to swinging music, all narrated in Pete Smith’s slang‑filled style.
