This documentary chronicles the Rolling Stones' tumultuous 1969 U.S. tour, culminating in a disastrous free concert at Altamont Speedway. The event became a focal point of the counterculture movement’s descent into chaos as clashes between the Hells Angels, hired for security, and concert attendees escalated. Filmed by the Maysles brothers and Charlotte Zwerin, the film captures the shocking violence and exposes a stark contrast to the idealism of the era, marking a turning point for a generation.
