Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred

Fred arrives home screaming and addresses the audience, setting up a flashback-driven narrative. The flashback recalls the day before when he went to music class and Mrs. Felson told him he played beautifully. The scene hints that something unsettling is unfolding around Mr. Devlin.

The day before, Fred attends music class to perform Fur Elise. Mrs. Felson, who has trouble hearing, praises his playing and encourages him. Her warm approval makes him feel confident about the piece.

The next day at the music class, Fred expects Mrs. Felson but finds Mr. Devlin has replaced her. He sees Devlin cleaning up and discarding a hearing aid, which makes Fred wary and suspicious of his motives.

Walking home with his best friend Bertha, Fred notices a girl named Talia following them. Believing he is being stalked, he bolts the rest of the way home and arrives screaming.

The next day at school, Devlin promotes everyone to join a community called Join the World of Music. Fred suspects that Devlin intends to turn everyone into vampires by giving lessons, and his fear grows as the whole class signs up. That night, he spies Devlin burying something and suspects a body.

After Fred finishes talking to Talia, she vanishes, prompting him to imagine her ghost in his house. He falls down the stairs reaching for her, and a knock at the door leads to an invitation to a party; it is later revealed that Talia is Kevin's sister.

The next day, the doorbell rings and Fred opens it to find Mr. Devlin taking his mom on a date. The sight unsettles him and deepens his unease about Devlin.

Fred and Bertha spy on Devlin and Fred's mom's date, with Bertha posing as a waitress. Devlin remarks that Bertha looks like one of his students, and she covers by saying she is her mother. He orders a bloody steak, and Fred notices Devlin's old music teacher's jacket, heightening his suspicions.

That night Fred falls from his window, and his dad pulls him up to a wrestling arena they visit together. The pair form a tag team against Devlin and Kevin, with Fred's dad winning the exchange and Fred pinning Kevin. The sequence blends action with a bizarre reality-bending dream tone.

After the victory, Fred wakes up realizing it was all a dream. The moment resets the narrative as he grapples with what is real and what he imagined.

The next day Fred experiences another daydream, this time a disturbing homoerotic fantasy with Devlin. He meets his alter-ego Derf, who helps him calm down and explains how to ward off vampires using street signs and internet tips. Derf emphasizes that stealing street signs is illegal as a siren sounds in the background.

Fred arms himself with crucifixes and garlic-sauce squirts as part of a plan to rid vampires, and heads to the piano recital where Devlin will perform with his minion. He imagines a climactic moment where he will confront Devlin in front of the crowd.

At the piano recital hall, Fred launches a 'vampire shooting spree' and soaks the audience, including Talia. Devlin invites him to his house for dinner to bury the hatchet, and Fred streams a live video to prove Devlin is a vampire. Inside, Fred finds a secret butchers' room and drops his phone into boiling liquid as the video freezes on Devlin.

Back at school, everyone has seen the video and believes Devlin is a vampire. Bertha reveals that vampires are real, but that Devlin isn't the real vampire; Fred's actions lead to a confrontation where Kevin stabs Fred and the blood is fake. Devlin forgives Fred, reveals he quit his job, and still considers Fred a friend.

In the final moment, Fred's mom and Devlin go out for dinner while Fred looks into a mirror and sees that Devlin has no reflection. The shock reveals that Devlin was a vampire after all, and Fred screams as the film ends.
