Set in the continent of Babel, dominated by the towering Babel, seven nations once faced near extinction due to alchemy’s use in warfare. A fragile peace and a ban on alchemy followed, lasting for centuries. However, in Continental Year 911, the nation of Lustrice shattered the accord, deploying an alchemically-powered army to pursue conquest. Defeated by an alliance of the other six nations, Lustrice was subdued, and alchemy was once again suppressed. Twenty years later, however, the forbidden practice resurfaces, threatening to plunge the continent into renewed conflict.
