During the Grateful Dead’s 1970 Canadian tour, Festival Express brought together legendary performers like Janis Joplin, Buddy Guy, and The Band for a series of unforgettable concerts. The journey was more than just a musical celebration, however, as backstage conflicts, intense media attention, and the backdrop of social change exposed the challenges and pressures faced by these iconic musicians at the height of their fame. The film captures both the vibrant energy of the performances and the complexities of life on the road.
