Feast

A stray Boston Terrier spots a discarded fry and is noticed by James. James offers him another fry and decides to adopt him as a pet. He names him Winston and begins feeding him portions of his own meals along with regular kibble.

James introduces Winston to a mixed diet that blends his own meals with junk food in addition to regular kibble. Winston adapts quickly, anticipating the tasty treats that come with his new owner. This marks the start of Winston’s influence on James’s eating habits.

James begins a relationship with Kirby, a waitress at a local restaurant. Kirby persuades him to take up a healthier diet and lifestyle. Winston, however, is not impressed when leftovers shift toward vegetables.

The healthier leftovers upset Winston because the meals become vegetables instead of the familiar junk foods. He resists the change, showing a preference for the old flavors. James's attempt at a healthier lifestyle begins to strain their bond with Winston.

An argument between James and Kirby ends their relationship. James falls into a deep depression and reverts to his old eating habits. Winston senses James's low spirits and worries about losing the comfort-food routine.

Winston notices a parsley piece that reminds him of Kirby and their meals. He steals the parsley and decides to bring it to Kirby, hoping to heal their rift. The journey pits him against several delicious temptations as he makes his way to Kirby.

Winston brings the parsley to Kirby, triggering James to follow to the restaurant. The encounter at the restaurant rekindles feelings between Kirby and James. They begin to reconcile, setting the stage for a bigger commitment.

James and Kirby reconcile and marry soon afterward. The ceremony marks a new chapter in their lives and in Winston’s role as a loved companion. Winston’s relief is evident as he settles into the idea of a happy family.

In the wake of the wedding, Winston appears content to eat normal dog food. James and Kirby settle into their home and routines, hoping for healthier days ahead even as Winston remains a loyal eater of whatever comes his way. The dog continues to adapt to the couple’s evolving lifestyle.

Some time later, James, Kirby, and Winston move to a new house with new spaces to explore. Winston spots meatballs on the kitchen floor and can’t resist testing them with a curious sniff and bite. The discovery hints at a return to his earlier indulgences.

Winston follows a trail of sauce from the meatballs to the base of a high chair. An infant at the chair happily throws another meatball to him, feeding the mischief. The moment blends domestic warmth with Winston’s growing appetite for leftovers.

At the baby's first birthday party, Winston gleefully devours cupcakes and other leftovers. The scene marks a full-circle return to his favorite indulgences. The film closes with Winston enjoying the celebration alongside James and Kirby.
