A priest named Sven and his wife Anna live in an isolated vicarage in northern Sweden, where Anna suffers from nervous trouble. Their guest Hedvig, who claims to be self‑sacrificing, has carved a bloody cross on her body and practices dark, erotic sorcery. She slips naked into Sven’s bed, kisses and straddles him while he sleeps, leading Anna into a tangled web of wickedness.
