Shikoro Ichibei returns for his third adventure, this time tasked by the Tokugawa bakufu to recover a theft. Nearly a half‑ton of gold has vanished from the shogunate’s old official mine, a loss that could bankrupt the government. With the loot still missing, officials summon the skilled secret agent, Shikoro Ichibei, to track down the stolen gold.
