A US team plane returning from a World Cup match crashes into the sea and washes ashore. The fifteen survivors reach the island and realize they are stranded with dwindling food and no immediate rescue.

On the first day, the group salvages some food from the offshore wreck, but Kennefick panics at the sight of a shark and lets the food float away, jeopardizing their scant supplies. The loss seeds distrust and fear about sustaining themselves. The survivors steel themselves to tighter, uncertain days ahead.

Tensions rise as the camp fractures into two factions: a violent faction led by Andreas and a compassionate faction led by Slim. Mutual suspicion grows as disagreements escalate and leadership becomes contested. The island’s dynamics become more dangerous than the environment itself.

On day seven, Connie takes his own life, causing a sharp drop in morale and reinforcing the sense of hopelessness among the survivors. The act deepens the rift as others reckon with their own desperation. The group now faces an even thinner line between order and chaos.

Later that day, Georgie, Andreas's brother, steps on a land mine and dies that night. His death further reduces the survivors to thirteen and adds a grim note to the island’s peril. The loss inflames the remaining members and intensifies the struggle for control.

On day eight, Patton and McKenna take the only rubber raft and depart the island, choosing survival for themselves over remaining as a resource. Their exit leaves the group five fewer mouths to feed and elevates the risk of insufficient water and food.

Elena begins a sexual relationship with Andreas, while her sister Eva connects with Felix. These entanglements reveal shifting loyalties and personal tensions that further complicate decisions about leadership and cooperation. As the sun rises, helicopters arrive on the island after rescuers locate Patton and McKenna on the raft Slim planned to destroy. The survivors on the island prepare to confront rescue, while some still linger in the moral mire of their choices. The long ordeal seems to be nearing its end.

Andreas hides rather than return with Slim and the other five. The six remaining survivors deceive the rescuers by lying that no one else is on the island and sentence Andreas to death, revealing a final act of collective betrayal.
