Georgekutty, Mohanlal started out as an orphan who had dropped out of school after his 4th grade, and he grew up to become a small-town entrepreneur running a cable television service in Rajakkad. He lives with his wife, Rani, Meena, and their two daughters, Anju, Ansiba Hassan, and Anu, Esther Anil. His life centers on his family, but his deep love for cinema and a knack for storytelling give him a kind of local fame and respect. He keeps a tight, frugal routine, spending long hours in his modest office, often in front of the TV, where he studies films with the eye of a curious amateur-turned-critic.

During a nature camp, tragedy strikes when Anju is photographed in the bathroom by a hidden cell phone held by Varun Prabhakar, Roshan Basheer, the spoiled son of Inspector General of Police Geetha Prabhakar, Asha Sarath. Varun pursues Anju with a dark persistence, and when she resists, he tries to force himself on her. That night, he shows up at the family home, and Rani pleads with him to leave Anju alone. Varun won’t listen unless Rani agrees to have sex with him instead. In a desperate, misguided attempt to end the danger, Anju accidentally strikes Varun in the head, killing him. The couple concocts a plan to hide what happened and bury the body in a compost pit, an act witnessed by Anu, whose young mind records the moment in a way that will echo later in the story.

Rani immediately tells Georgekutty what has happened, and he quickly shifts into problem-solver mode. He destroys the broken phone and eliminates Varun’s car to erase potential evidence, actions that draw the attention of a local police constable who harbors a grudge against him, Sahadevan, Kalabhavan Shajon. The family then tries to lay low and even take a short trip to a religious retreat, a movie, and a restaurant, hoping to establish a credible alibi. Unbeknownst to them, Geetha, the IG, begins a formal inquiry into Varun’s disappearance, and the investigation soon tightens around Georgekutty and his kin.

Geetha’s scrutiny forces a careful, calculated defense. Georgekutty had anticipated trouble and coached his family on how to present their alibi, insisting that their whereabouts were verifiable through tickets and receipts from the restaurant, the cinema, and the bus ride. The authorities scrutinize the establishments they visited, and while the alibi appears airtight at first, the officers uncover a subtle inconsistency: the very acts that should prove their alibi—purchasing tickets and keeping receipts—reveal that Georgekutty had firsthand knowledge of the places and people involved, and that the family had traveled together the next day. The net tightens as the evidence seems to tilt toward their possible involvement.

Soon, Georgekutty and his family are arrested. Sahadevan intensifies the pressure, subjecting them to brutal interrogation in an attempt to extract the truth, including Anu. Geetha later learns from Varun’s friend about a video Anju had supposedly made with Varun, a crucial detail that hints at the motive and the manipulation behind the crime. Under the weight of the torture and the mounting evidence, Anu eventually provides the location of the buried body. When the compost pit is dug, the investigators discover not a human corpse but the carcass of a cow, a surprising twist that signals deliberate misdirection and raises questions about the true handling of the evidence.

Before Geetha and Sahadevan can respond, Georgekutty and Anu step into the glare of the media to press their case and condemn the torture they endured. The spectacle turns public, and Sahadevan reacts with rage, attempting another violent confrontation, only to be restrained by Rajesh, Rani’s brother, and the villagers. Sahadevan is suspended, and Geetha resigns from her post, a dramatic fall from grace for the investigative team. In the aftermath, Geetha and her husband Prabhakar, Siddique, seek forgiveness for their harsh treatment and their son Varun’s disturbing behavior, though Georgekutty remains wary and does not reveal all he knows about Varun’s fate. He signs a register at the newly built police station, signaling a fragile sense of closure, even as the officer hints that the body might still surface.

In a final, chilling twist that reframes the entire ordeal, Georgekutty steps out of the police station and reveals a shocking truth to the audience: Varun’s body had been buried beneath the very police station, a secret that only he could have engineered. The film closes on this unsettling revelation, leaving viewers to ponder justice, power, and the lengths a family will go to protect itself in the face of a system that can be both protective and complicit.
