Utsugi, a refined 77‑year‑old recovering from a stroke, finds his decaying body at odds with a still raging libido, unwittingly inflamed by the gentle attentions of his daughter‑in‑law Satsuko—a stylish, flamboyant dancer with a shadowy past.
