Sherry Williams, a teen who idolizes her sister Josephine, has followed her move to New York where Josephine performs as a burlesque star. Before a school recital, a Broadway producer lifts Sherry’s confidence by praising Josephine’s talent. Encouraged, Sherry impulsively travels to the city, only to discover a reality unlike the image she imagined.
