The commandment ‘Thou shalt not kill’ frames the story. Jacek, a volatile drifter, commits a senseless, brutal murder of a taxi driver. Young, idealistic lawyer Piotr, who opposes the death penalty on principle, is assigned the case. Their intense, honest encounters force Piotr to confront the profound injustice inherent in any act of killing.
