Released in 1969, the film is Britain’s first black‑power movie, weaving sexual and political identity into a hip, hippy London of the late 60s, with a style echoing radical works like Michael Roeg’s Performance. Long thought lost, the rediscovered pop‑fantasy offers a rare black‑British view of 60s sex and politics.
