Set in the present day, this modern adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s classic novel‑poem follows Moscow official Chichikov, who abandons his historic scheme of buying dead souls from provincial landowners. Instead, he markets coveted burial plots beside famous figures, turning the old satire into a contemporary commentary on fame and profiteering.
