Ambitious lawyer Charlie Deegan runs a successful practice, has a lover secretary, and eyes a high‑court seat. His domineering wife Olivia, heir to her father's fortune, blocks him. When lover Laura suggests eliminating Olivia, Charlie designs a foolproof plot using despised Victoria, who can aid his judgeship. Greed soon unravels his scheme.
