A seven‑episode comic strip depicts Richard Strauss (1864‑1949). Director Russell, fond of biopics, takes a stance, calling Strauss’s music bombastic and condemning his apolitical alignment with Nazis. The film caricatures him in scenes where nuns attack him over Nietzsche, duels jealous husbands, music beats critics, and glorifies fantasies of women.
