In the end, Dean chooses to stay alive and rebuild her life, despite all the struggles she faces. After a series of setbacks—like Taryn's tragic suicide and her own confrontation with her ex, Jackson, which leaves her emotionally shattered—Dean finds strength through her new relationship with Trenton. Their bond deepens as they share their painful pasts, and Trenton’s support helps Dean see a future worth fighting for. The film culminates in Trenton proposing to Dean, with her friends and sister watching, suggesting that she’s finally found stability and hope. While the film leaves some ambiguity—playing with the idea that Dean’s story might have ended at the first scene where she’s in crisis—it ultimately confirms that she survives. The ending emphasizes her journey toward healing and connectedness, illustrating that, even in the face of profound loss and pain, life can move forward if one has support and the will to continue. The movie’s conclusion, though a bit idealistic, aims to inspire hope for anyone struggling with depression or despair, showing that survival and recovery are possible.
