Adapted from Jack London’s short story “The Abysmal Brute,” the film follows Pat, a rugged fighter from a logging and mining camp, who is set to box prizefighter Corrigan. While his supporters expect him to win, Pat has secretly colluded with Corrigan to throw the fight, a scheme that is jeopardized when he encounters reporter Maude.
