Confessions of Boston Blackie

Diane Parrish pushes to sell the statue to raise money for her sick brother. Joe Buchanan warns her to stay away, fearing she will cause a scene if she forms an emotional attachment. She still arrives and discovers that the statue she believes is hers is actually a fake.

Buchanan pulls out a gun to silence Diane, and Boston Blackie spots him and fires his pistol. Parrish is grazed, but Buchanan accidentally kills his partner and the replica's sculptor, Eric Allison.

Police Inspector Farraday arrives and automatically assumes Blackie is guilty, taking him into custody. Blackie protests his innocence as he is booked.

Buchanan hides inside the hollow fake statue to avoid capture. Once the coast is clear, he slips out with Eric Allison's body and the incriminating bullet, making his escape.

Blackie's wealthy friend, Arthur Manleder, purchases the replica statue. The sale ties the fake to Manleder and gives the criminals a credible buyer.

Blackie is kept in jail, but he switches places with a hapless ice cream man to escape. The ruse allows him to slip away and avoid immediate suspicion.

He goes to see Diane in the hospital to obtain information. To get in undetected, he appropriates the ice cream man's uniform and pretends to be Diane's doctor.

The Runt masquerades as an insurance adjuster to give Diane $6000 borrowed from Manleder. The money had originally been intended to pay off Mona, who claims she is Blackie's wife.

Mona shows up and demands the money, revealing her blackmailer role. Diane realizes that Blackie is the benefactor who arranged the funds.

Buchanan arranges to buy the statue from an unsuspecting Manleder. Blackie learns of the plan and sees a way to unravel the mystery.

Blackie follows the movers back to their lair and sneaks inside. Inside, he overpowers Caulder, one of Buchanan's henchmen.

Buchanan returns with Diane as his prisoner, resulting in a Mexican standoff between the criminals and Blackie. The tension escalates as Blackie tries to outmaneuver Buchanan.

Farraday has Manleder and the Runt picked up, hoping they'll lead him to Blackie. He releases them when they can't provide the crook's location.

Manleder is released and returns to the crooks' secret underground workshop. He continues to facilitate the criminals' operations by providing access.

In the ensuing gunfight, Buchanan is killed and the shots destroy the electrical circuits controlling the only way in. The group is trapped in a soundproof chamber until Blackie improvises a fire in the ventilation shaft to bring in rescuers. Firemen arrive and let them out.
