On the eve of the 1987 Second National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, families and friends of those lost to AIDS craft panels for a massive memorial quilt. Director Robert Epstein draws from the countless names to tell the intimate stories of six individuals, while news footage and interviews situate the epidemic within the broader social and governmental response.
