Antonis, a lazy heir to his kind‑hearted grocer uncle Harilaos Toukouras, is urged into marriage as the cure for his indolence. Harilaos searches personal ads for a bride, but a printing error puts a sewing‑machine ad in the column. The mistake sends them to an estate agent’s house, where his two single sisters become involved in the plan.
