Colt .45

Steve Farrell demonstrates Colt .45 repeating pistols to the sheriff in Red Rock. The demonstration is interrupted when prisoners are moved and Jason Brett seizes the pistols, shoots the sheriff, and escapes. The town soon suspects Farrell's involvement and his troubles begin.

Following Brett's dramatic breakout, the townspeople arrest Farrell, convinced he helped plan the escape. The arrest marks a turning point as the gun salesman becomes a target for the town's anger. Brett's actions unleash a wave of violence that Farrell will attempt to counter.

Brett launches a campaign of robberies and cold-blooded murder, armed with his Colt .45 pistol. The guns give him an overwhelming edge over ordinary firearms in Red Rock. The townspeople live in fear as he enacts his plan.

Farrell is released from jail and tracks Brett into Texas. He encounters a band of dead Indians; the lone survivor, Chief Walking Bear, tells him about Brett's plan to stage a robbery. Walking Bear's insight sets Farrell on a path to intercept the gang of outlaws.

Farrell leaps onto a stage to confront Brett's gang, using his Colt .45s to even the odds. Beth Donovan, the stage's only passenger, tries to prevent him from fighting. The stagecoach becomes a dangerous frontline in the gang's criminal plan.

After the clash, Farrell notices a white scarf hanging outside the stage window, which he mistakes as a signal from Beth. Convinced of Beth's involvement with the gang, he pursues, while Beth escapes on a horse. The misinterpretation foreshadows the tension between Farrell and Beth.

Beth returns to her cabin, where she learns that her husband Paul Donovan is colluding with Brett's gang. When she denounces him, Paul locks her in a shed to prevent her from revealing the scheme. Her captivity heightens the stakes for Farrell's pursuit.

Beth escapes her confinement and hurries into town to reveal Paul and Brett's plan. Sheriff Harris, secretly in league with Brett, manipulates events to trap Farrell, but Farrell evades the ambush with help from Walking Bear and his tribe. The escape sets the stage for a wider confrontation.

The Indians discover Paul dead, shot in the back, hinting at the brutal costs of the gang's crimes. As Harris and Brett's gang lay a trap, Farrell is captured but the tribesmen arrive to rescue him and kill one of his captors. The pursuit resumes with renewed urgency.

Farrell and the Indians ride into Bonanza Creek where Brett's men are slain by the tribesmen. Harris arrives in town to warn Brett, but collapses and dies inside the sheriff's office, leaving Beth trapped with Brett. Beth becomes his hostage as tension peaks.

The confrontation reaches the jail where Brett uses Beth as a shield, but she escapes. Farrell fights Brett; with ammo exhausted, Brett steps outside, takes a few steps, and falls dead in the street. Farrell emerges from the jail as Beth runs to embrace him.
