A young teacher is posted to the southern town of Hengchun and quickly falls for Kojima Tomoko. Their romance unfolds against the backdrop of occupation and looming upheaval as the war ends. The relationship is sweet, fragile, and shadowed by the chance of separation.

As the Surrender of Japan approaches, the teacher begins to plan a farewell. He pens seven love letters to Kojima Tomoko, expressing regret for leaving her behind. The letters symbolize a love that cannot be realized in the tumult of history.

Taiwan falls under ROC administration, and the teacher is forced to return to his homeland. He leaves behind Kojima Tomoko and their memories. The seven letters remain unsent, awaiting a future that might never come.

More than sixty years later, Aga finds an undeliverable mail item meant for a sender in Japan. The letters, discovered by the teacher's daughter, are mailed to Taiwan after being found. The old Cape No. 7 address hints at a lost chapter of love.

Aga moves back to his hometown and begins working as a postman, helped by his stepfather’s influence. He replaces the aging Old Mao, who is on leave after a motorcycle accident. The job places him at the center of the town’s communication and memories.

The resort hotel in Kenting National Park organizes a beach concert featuring a Japanese pop singer. Tomoko is assigned to manage the hastily formed local band, bringing discipline and experience to a group of diverse locals. The project sparks her arrival in Hengchun.

Despite initial friction, Aga and Tomoko grow closer as they rehearse and perform together. They navigate language and cultural barriers, revealing mutual longing and resilience. Their evolving bond adds emotional depth to the band's efforts.

Hotel maid Mingchu, who is Kojima Tomoko's granddaughter, steps in as a bridge between generations. She helps piece together the past and hint at who should receive the seven letters. Her presence anchors memory in the present.

Tomoko explains that the seven letters must reach their intended recipient, and Aga commits to finding them. The search drives the plot forward, turning memory into action. The letters become a catalyst for the concert and its revelations.

Tomoko reveals a job offer in Japan and contemplates leaving after the concert. She is torn between home, career, and the connections she has formed in Hengchun. Her departure adds urgency to delivering the letters before she goes.

Aga locates the intended recipient of the seven letters, and the letters are prepared for delivery. The resolution provides closure for a story that began decades earlier. The past and present converge as memories surface.
