Buffalo Kids

Tom and Mary arrive in the United States in hopes of reuniting with their Uncle Niall. When Niall doesn't show up at the docks, they decide to search for him with Sparky by their side. The search soon becomes a dangerous journey.

Unable to afford tickets, the children sneak onto a train with a group of orphans, hoping to reach their destination. Eleanor, the supervising adult, becomes aware of their plight and offers some protection. They ride through the risk-filled journey with the dog Sparky nearby.

During the journey, Mary forms a friendship with Nick, a non-verbal boy rejected by his first potential adoptive family due to his disability. The bond gives them hope amid their precarious situation. Nick's presence adds a new emotional layer to their search for family.

Eleanor learns of the children's circumstances and vows she won't hand them over to the train staff. Her pledge offers a glimmer of safety in a rough, improvised voyage. The trio relies on her support as they press on.

While stopping to collect water, the trio is captured by an Indian tribe. They soon learn the tribe is friendly toward them and not involved in the train attack. The tribe offers shelter and a safer passage forward.

The children are brought to another group of white men who turn out to be the bandits responsible for the train attack. They force the passengers to work as slave labor in a distant mine. Tension rises as the truth of exploitation becomes clear.

Among the prisoners is Tom and Mary's Uncle Niall, who has also been captured on a different train. The revelation accelerates the determination to escape and reunite the family. The siblings realize their uncle is alive but imprisoned.

The children manage to escape the mine and reach out to a nearby fortress and the allied Indian tribe. Their coordinated effort marks the first step toward liberating the other captives. They risk everything to alert authorities and allies.

The fortress and the Indian tribe join forces to assault the mine, aiming to rescue the prisoners before the bandits can destroy the mine and erase evidence. The operation is tense but ultimately frees the captives and halts the bandits' plunder. Courage and cooperation prevail.

With the prisoners freed, Niall, Tom, and Mary decide to stay together as a family. Eleanor joins them, and she invites Nick to come along as well, cementing their newly formed kinship. The journey ends with a sense of belonging and chosen family.
