The man who receives the wrong parcel goes to a multistory building where an assassin attacks him in an elevator and is killed. A fragment of paper is left behind near the body, hinting at a larger criminal plan. The incident links the parcel exchange to Mumbai's criminal underworld.

Feluda, Topshe, and Jatayu check into a Mumbai hotel and learn of the murder from Pulak. They meet Inspector Patwardhan, who begins to connect the dots between the theft, the necklace, and the film project. The team senses that the novel and its author sit at the center of a dangerous mystery.

Victor Perumal jumps into the compartment to disrupt Nimmo, causing him to lose balance and drop his revolver. Feluda shoots Nimmo in the leg as he tries to escape. It is revealed that Sanyal is actually Gorey in disguise, orchestrating the plot with Jatayu's aid.

Gorey is arrested and Pulok cheers Jatayu, signaling a return to normalcy. The shooting is to resume with a new producer on board, restoring the film's production. The adventure ends with justice and a renewed friendship among the trio.
