Roy Kapoor is a seasoned conman, a truth his girlfriend Simmi Ahuja does not know. On the day of their engagement, his deception is exposed, and Simmi ends the relationship. The revelation leaves him shaken and he spirals into heavy drinking, unsure of what the future holds.
Six months later, Aditya ‘Dittu’ Srivastav and Jassi, two earnest but inexperienced con artists, try to swindle him but come up short. They pivot their plan and set their sights on a doctor, Dr. Bhalerao, hoping to pull off a larger score. Roy steps in to aid the doctor after a prior scam leaves him indebted, and this act of unexpected goodwill plants the seeds of a fragile alliance.
One fateful day, Roy’s excessive drinking makes him dizzy in the middle of a street, and Dittu judgementally recognizes an opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade from him. The reluctant mentor agrees to teach, and the pair soon tests their skills together. Their schemes range from deceiving a trusting family to targeting a group sitting on black money, and the thrill of the con draws them into a dangerous new rhythm.
Their boldest outing leads them to a club, where Roy’s dizziness returns and the world tilts on its axis. He’s rushed to the hospital, where a CAT scan performed by Dr. Bhalerao reveals a brain tumor and a grim prognosis—three months to live.
Meanwhile, Simmi works as a restaurant manager and finds herself engaged to a man she doesn’t truly love. Roy tries to tell her the truth about the cancer, and after meeting the doctor, she begins to believe him and the two start rebuilding their friendship.
As the story unfolds, it’s revealed that Dittu’s father and many others were duped by Chandru Parekh, the man whose fraudster’s appetite helped shape Dittu’s path. Motivated to right the past, Roy resolves to help Dittu con Chandru and recover the stolen wealth, even as his own health hangs in the balance. But the cancer story takes a dramatic turn toward the climax, forcing the players to reevaluate who is pulling the strings.
In the heat of the confrontation, Simmi is kidnapped by Chandru Parekh, and Roy rushes to rescue her. Chandru pushes Roy from a building terrace, but he survives by landing on a huge inflated square, a moment that shifts the course of the tale. An MRI back at the hospital—the same facility that seemed to seal Roy’s fate—appears to confirm that something is wrong, yet the scene is oddly quiet: the hospital is closed, and Roy discovers that the supposed cancer is not real.
What follows is a twist that reframes everything: the entire sequence up to that point was staged, meticulously planned by Dittu, scripted by Chandru, and orchestrated by Simmi, all with the aim of prying Roy away from his old life. He was never truly ill; the scans, the drugs, the ploys—all were part of a controlled ruse designed to wake him to a better path. With this revelation, Roy chooses to change course, using the experience as a turning point rather than a final curtain.
The film closes on a hopeful note, underscoring a theme of redemption over recklessness. What began as a web of deception evolves into a story about genuine transformation, trust regained, and a second chance at building a life grounded in integrity, not charm.
