A portrait of filmmaker Al Adamson, BLOOD & FLESH combines archival footage with interviews from over 40 colleagues, friends, and admirers. The documentary explores the unique world of California’s outsider filmmaker communities in the 1970s and their surprising connections to Hollywood. Notable figures like Orson Welles’ crew, cinematographers Gary Graver and Vilmos Szigmond, and even Charles Manson, appear in Adamson’s films. Director David Gregory, known for his work with Severin Films, spent years crafting this film, detailing both Adamson's extraordinary life and his tragic death, along with eccentric elements like alien conspiracies and go-go dancers.
