Dev Kaushal returns home early to surprise his wife Reena and finds her in bed with Ranjit Arora. He leaves in disbelief and decides to follow Ranjit to uncover his secrets. This shocking discovery sets off a chain of blackmail and money-driven manipulation that dominates the story.

Dev starts shadowing Ranjit through the city, piecing together who he is and how he is connected to Reena and Dolly Verma. He quietly gathers personal and financial information to weaponize later. The pursuit marks the first step in a dangerous game of leverage.

Ranjit maneuvers money through Dolly Verma, who is connected to a wealthy family. When Dolly's father asks for the cash back, Ranjit uses Reena as a bargaining chip to pressure Dev. The money moves begin to entangle multiple people and motives.

Dev outlines his plan to his colleague Anand, explaining how he will manipulate Ranjit’s cash flow to his advantage. Reena asks for money to pay for her father’s treatment, and Dev secures funds by leveraging more from Ranjit. The dustbin becomes a recurring symbol of the scheme as money changes hands.

Reena approaches Dev requesting funds for her father’s medical care. Dev agrees but continues to stack leverage over Ranjit to finance it. This exchange deepens the money game that will drive the rest of the plot.

Dev, using information gathered from Ranjit, sends money to Reena by routing it through successive exchanges. Reena hides the cash in a dustbin, and eventually Ranjit collects it, using the opportunity to pressure Dev further. The dusty cache symbolizes the murky moral territory the characters inhabit.

Dev’s boss announces a plan to sabotage the city water supply to demonstrate the population’s supposed need for toilet paper. He asks Dev to persuade the municipal authorities to shut off the water for 12 hours, a drastic move that could backfire on them all. Dev shows initial reluctance but is drawn into the scheme.

Anand takes Prabha Ghatpandey on a date, and the next day Prabha uses the information against Dev to demand more money. Dev confronts Anand again as the web of deceit tightens. The money pressure multiplies and pulls more people into the trap.

During a confrontation at Prabha’s apartment, Prabha slips and dies. Dev escapes by disguising himself with a paper bag mask, avoiding immediate police attention. The death heightens the stakes and accelerates the investigation.

The next morning, police interrogate Dev, Anand, and others about Prabha’s death and the blackmail. Anand tries to reveal Dev’s scheme, but Dev convinces him to stay silent for the moment. Using Anand’s car and a copied bag, Dev helps stage evidence to frame Anand, who is then arrested.

Dolly Verma follows Ranjit and discovers him with Reena in a cinema hall, confirming the affair. Anand is released and confronts Dev in a tense stand-off about greed and money. Chawla, the detective, begins blackmailing Dev for money.

Ranjit shoots Dolly after she confronts him, then hides the body to avoid discovery. Dev escalates his leverage by forcing Ranjit to pay Chawla, heightening the pressure. Reena’s and Dev’s relationship strains under the weight of the scheme and betrayal.

Dev tracks cash that Reena is discarding, following her to a mall where money is dumped in a dustbin. He bribes a security guard to retrieve funds and hands them to Chawla, who then manipulates the situation to frame Anand as the blackmailer. Ranjit responds with lethal finality, killing Anand.

Back at home, Reena deletes Ranjit’s contact and asks when Dev will return. Dev deletes Reena’s contact and walks out of the office, signaling an emotional rift. The mid-credits reveal shows the water-supply sabotage plan succeeded, boosting bottled water sales, and a flashback to Dev and Reena’s wedding from seven years earlier.
