Set in 1938 in an unnamed Central American country, a French mercenary known only as “Le Rital” is contracted to assassinate the reigning dictator. He is paired with young Chico, who becomes his reluctant right‑hand man and quickly earns his respect. As they carry out the mission, a tentative bond forms between the outsider and the local.
