Battle on Buka Street

Yejide operates the community's most patronized buka on Buka Street, with help from her mother Asake and her children. The shop becomes a center of daily life and a source of pride for the family. Its success triggers the arrival of a rival neighboring buka owned by Awele.

Awele purchases the shop next to Yejide's and opens in direct competition. Old tensions between their mothers, Asake and Ezinne, resurface and bleed into their children. The rivalry spreads and threatens the harmony of Buka Street.

Awele's twins, Kaira and Kaiso, are sent to trap Asake in Maduka's house, hampering Yejide's service. With Asake unavailable, patrons flock to Awele's buka, shifting the balance of customers.

Both sides begin courting the town and using their children as weapons, planting rats and cockroaches to ruin the other's buka. The ongoing schemes deepen the feud and erode trust among families on Buka Street.

The families spread news that Ifunnaya and Ademide are bound for America and Canada, respectively, to explain the absence of their children. In reality, both youths are in Lagos, where they meet by chance and decide to help each other confront their problems despite the rivalry.

Fadekemi substitutes kerosene with petrol at Awele's buka without her mother's knowledge. A devastating fire erupts, forcing Yejide to question whether the rivalry is worth the cost, while Asake remains steadfast in her stance.

Ezinne, who has been deteriorating, expresses regret for fueling the conflict and urges an end to the quarrel. She dies after pleading for peace, leaving the families to confront the consequences of their feud.

The rivals seek to outdo each other through different spiritual paths, hoping to secure victory over the other's buka. Both approaches prove ineffective, suggesting deeper, unresolved issues beneath the feud.

Nearby, inmates break free, destroying and robbing shops on Buka Street and nearby areas. The upheaval gives Lanshile, Yejide's husband, a chance to escape after taking the fall for Yejide's earlier self-defence killing.

Lanshile's escape rekindles memories and resentment among the children who do not know the truth behind his years of absence. Ademide bears stigma over being his son, yet the family gradually begins to reconnect as truths come to light.

In Lagos, Ifunnaya and Ademide cross paths and quietly support one another in navigating their respective family feuds. Their alliance hints at a shared desire to find a way home and repair the rifts caused by Buka Street rivalries.

After their Lagos alliance, Ifunnaya and Ademide return to Otanwa together, bringing new resolve to the town’s feuding dynamics. Their return sets the stage for the next phase of the conflict and reconciliation.

During a youth carnival, the escapees trigger a stampede; Ademide rescues Ifunnaya and guides her to Lanshile's hidden refuge. Their courageous act becomes a turning point as the town reels from the chaos.

Awele summons the town's organizers to dispute the rising violence and mete out punishment for the fugitives. The crisis pushes the families toward a final confrontation that could end the rivalry.

The children and Yejide persuade Awele to end the rivalry and she ultimately covers for Lanshile, enabling his escape. With the truth revealed and forgiveness offered, the film closes on a fragile peace and the possibility of rebuilding Otanwa’s Buka Street.
