Batman: Assault on Arkham

Batman intervenes during a black-ops operation to seize the Riddler. He defeats the mission's guards, takes custody of the Riddler, and brings him back to Arkham Asylum. The Riddler's cane later contains a thumbdrive with sensitive information, setting the stage for Waller's escalating interest.

Waller captures a group of super-criminals—Black Spider, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, KGBeast, Killer Frost, and King Shark—and forms the Suicide Squad. She implants nano-bombs in their necks to force obedience and orders them to recover the thumbdrive from Riddler's cane. KGBeast is killed when attempting to defect, underscoring Waller's ruthlessness.

KGBeast tries to break from the operation, but Waller eliminates him to prevent any betrayal. The squad continues under the threat of the bombs and strict control. This brutal act confirms Waller's uncompromising command over the team.

Waller sends the surviving members to Gotham City to obtain equipment from the Penguin. The mission signals the Squad's return to the field, with Penguin's resources threaded into their plan. Harley and Deadshot's dynamic begins to emerge as they head toward their next objective.

The Squad stays overnight at the Iceberg Lounge as their arrangement with Penguin unfolds. Harley Quinn and Deadshot share a one-night stand, signaling a complicated relationship that influences later choices. The uneasy alliance foreshadows the tensions inside the group.

The next day, Harley's pursuit of the Joker's hidden dirty bomb brings her into Batman's sights. She is captured and sent to Arkham where the incarcerated Joker taunts her. In a fit of rage, she steals a guard's gun and shoots the cell doors in her own cell, prompting a lockdown.

Meanwhile the rest of the Squad infiltrates Arkham, looping the prior day's security footage to distract Batman and Waller. They locate the Riddler's cane and Harley's mallet, but find the Riddler's cell empty, realizing their ruse has failed. The plot thickens as Batman closes in.

Batman subdues the infiltrating squad and disguises himself by taking Spider's suit, attempting to move within their ranks. The interruption throws the plan into chaos as the team tries to proceed with their mission. The line between hunter and prey blurs in the tense corridors of Arkham.

Killer Frost reveals he is a former Squad member who knows how to disarm their nano-bombs. The group agrees to let him disable the devices in exchange for help escaping. The revelation shifts the balance of power and raises the stakes for a breakout.

The Joker notices the structural weakness Harley created during her failed attempt on his life, short-circuiting the cell door and escaping. This unravels any chance for a controlled exit and pushes the plan toward a chaotic breakout. The escape destabilizes the whole operation.

The Riddler uses an electroshock device to fry the bombs as Waller demands an update. She detonates the devices, but only succeeds in killing King Shark (immune to electricity) and Spider. Batman reveals himself to confront the squad, while the Joker attacks Deadshot to settle a score over Harley. Harley convinces Deadshot to forgive her, and the Joker frees the inmates to cover his escape; Frost is killed and Captain Boomerang is left behind as the breakout unfolds.

In the ensuing breakout, Deadshot escapes in a helicopter, unaware that the Joker and Harley have stowed away aboard. Batman pursues and a brutal confrontation follows; the helicopter crashes into a city street. Deadshot forces the Joker down, while Batman knocks out Harley and disarms the bomb in her mallet.

Aftermath scenes show Batman berating Waller for letting the Riddler escape and urging an end to the Task Force X program. Waller dismisses him, hinting that the Joker’s body was not recovered. In the final moment, Deadshot, now reunited with his daughter, trains a scoped rifle on Waller from a distance.
