Rooftop life ends with eviction

Arthur Askey and Stinker Murdoch are living on the roof of Broadcasting House in Central London while waiting for their big BBC break. Their precarious setup is shattered when an item from their clothes line falls and hits Claude Pilkington, a senior BBC figure. The incident leads to their eviction, forcing them to pack up their belongings and leave.

While driving home, Pilkington's car suffers a punctured tire from broken glass lying on the road. The glass has been placed there by the owners of the Jack-in-the-Box restaurant in hopes of pressuring the BBC for an audition.
