Cody, Anita, Eileen and Lily work together in a brothel where Anita is abused by a customer. Cody shoots the man after he opens fire, killing him. Narrowly escaping a lynch mob, the four women flee as Pinkerton detectives are hired by the widow of Colonel Clayborne to hunt them down. On the road they are warned of the pursuit by a man named McCoy.

They discuss riding to Oregon to begin a new life and claim the land Anita inherits from her husband. Cody offers to fund their escape from her savings. The plan is to head west and start anew away from their pursuers.
