Something unseen watches, waiting, hungry. In 1877 the fearsome Bovinus Spiritualis—known as the Black Hodag—was found in the northern woods of Oneida County, Wisconsin, birthing a curse whispered about the Black Forest. Six friends on a road‑trip to a remote town discover the legend is real, as the creature that has preyed on locals for decades adds them to its menu.
