Teenage lovers Annie and Ben run away from their small town with dreams of a life together in the big city. However, their plans are disrupted when Annie’s parents annul their marriage. Ben moves to New York, while Annie remains in Iowa to support her family. Fifteen years pass, and both are engaged to other people. They unexpectedly learn that their annulment was never legally finalized. Reuniting to officially dissolve the marriage, they revisit their shared history and old feelings arise, forcing them to consider if their past love could lead to a future together.
