A Hollywood biographical film depicting survivor Arshaluys (Aurora) Mardiganian’s experience of the Armenian Genocide, based on her memoirs in which she portrays herself. Regarded as the first film about genocide, the complete work is lost; only a restored 24‑minute segment from a rare Soviet‑Armenian reel, released in 2009 by the Armenian Genocide Resource Center of Northern California, remains.
