Around the World in 80 Days

In 1872, the ambitious English gentleman Phileas Fogg declares that he can travel around the world in just eighty days. He places a wager of £20,000, challenging the members of the Reform Club, while ensuring he returns precisely at 8:45 PM exactly eighty days later.

Fogg embarks on his daunting adventure, accompanied by his resourceful French valet, Passepartout. They begin their travels by spending lavishly on steamships to meet their deadlines while traveling through bustling cities and countries.

Upon arriving in Paris, Fogg and Passepartout face an unexpected challenge when they discover a blockage in a tunnel beneath the Alps. However, they are fortunate to find a Thomas Cook agent who offers them a hot air balloon, which they decide to use to continue their journey.

Their travels take an amusing turn when they are blown off-course to Spain, where they enjoy a lively flamenco performance. This delightful detour showcases the vibrant culture they encounter on their journey.

In Spain, Passepartout takes part in a comedic bullfight, adding an element of humor to their escapade. This lively event highlights the duo's adventurous spirit as they embrace the cultural experiences along the way.

Fogg and Passepartout reach Brindisi, Italy, continuing their whirlwind journey across continents. However, back in London, Inspector Fix begins his pursuit of Fogg, suspecting him of embezzling a significant sum of money.

In London, tensions rise as Inspector Fix investigates Fogg, convinced he is the culprit behind the embezzlement from the Bank of England. This adds a layer of urgency and danger to Fogg's race against time.

During their stop in India, Fogg and Passepartout heroically rescue Aouda, a young widow, from a funeral pyre. This emotional encounter strengthens their bond and propels them further into their adventures.

Fogg's journey takes him through Hong Kong, Yokohama, and San Francisco, exploring culturally rich cities. Each location brings its own challenges and experiences, ultimately pushing Fogg closer to his deadline.

After navigating cross-country, Fogg cleverly secures a passage on a cargo steamship to Venezuela. However, his plans go awry when the ship runs out of coal, forcing him to think creatively in order to continue his journey.

Upon reaching Liverpool, Fogg is surprised to be arrested by Inspector Fix, who wrongly believes he has caught the embezzler. This twist of fate creates a tense situation as Fogg tries to clear his name and regain his freedom.

While detained, Inspector Fix realizes his mistake as the true criminal is caught elsewhere. Although Fogg is free, this delay threatens his chances of completing the wager, with time ticking away mercilessly.

After being released, Fogg is devastated to realize he cannot reach London before the deadline. However, the unexpected discovery by Passepartout encourages Fogg to race against the clock, instilling hope in his mission.

Fogg arrives at the Reform Club just as the clock strikes 8:45 PM, defying all odds. In a surprising turn, Aouda accompanies him, a first for a woman in the club, leaving everyone in astonishment and marking the triumphant end of their adventure.
