Anwar

The movie opens with visuals of the Coimbatore bomb blast, setting the tone of terrorist activities. Special team leader Stalin Manimaran arrests Babu Sait, suspecting his involvement in the blast. Anwar, a young Malayali Muslim, is also introduced as he gets arrested carrying Hawala money.

Anwar is detained and sent to jail alongside Babu Sait and other suspects. Despite his incarceration, Anwar is shown performing Namaaz and becomes fascinated by Babu Sait’s terrorist activities. His alignment with the terrorist group begins here.

Babu Sait helps Anwar secure bail and introduces him to his extremist activities. Anwar, intrigued by the cause, becomes a loyal and trusted right-hand man. His involvement deepens as he participates in planting bombs and eliminating rivals.

Anwar is recruited to lead a series of chain blasts in Mumbai, planned by Babu Sait and his associates. He progresses with the deadly mission, but is haunted by flashbacks that reveal his past and motivations for joining the terrorists.

Flashback reveals Anwar’s peaceful life in Palakkad with his family. Returning from America for his sister's wedding, he falls for Ayesha. During a shopping trip in Coimbatore, a bomb blast kills his family, leaving him orphaned and driven by grief.

Ayesha is arrested, and Anwar seeks Stalin’s help for her bail. Stalin, citing lack of evidence, refuses but agrees to help in uncovering terrorists. Their covert meetings deepen Anwar's involvement with terrorism and law enforcement.

Stalin arranges a secret meeting involving Ayesha. To deceive Babu Sait's men, Stalin feigns a fight, leading to Stalin being shot dead by the terrorists. This act of sacrifice marks a key turning point in Anwar’s journey.

Anwar is tasked with transporting terrorists via a ship packed with explosives. Pretending to join their cause, he ultimately betrays them by firing at the ship, causing it to explode and kill all terrorists onboard, thwarting their plans.

After the ship attack, Babu Sait becomes furious and confronts Anwar, revealing Babu's attempt to manipulate him regarding his past. Babu Sait, overwhelmed by guilt and rage, commits suicide, ending his reign of terror.

Anwar calls Stalin’s number, indicating the mission is complete. Though Stalin and colleagues receive bravery awards, Anwar’s selfless acts remain unrecognized by the authorities. His silent heroism is left as a poignant ending.

The film concludes with Anwar and Ayesha living quietly together in a small house, symbolizing peace after turmoil. The ending is marked by the 'Njan' song, highlighting their hope for a peaceful future.
