Anne returns to Avonlea after Marilla’s death. Gilbert takes a hospital post and convinces Anne to follow, securing her a job at a publishing firm. City life isn’t what they expected, and her manuscript is stolen by dashing writer Jack Garrison, sending the tale from New York to the war front Europe and back to Prince Edward Island.
