Annadurai

Eswari hires a share cab home, but thugs board the vehicle near a cemetery and try to assault her. A drunk Annadurai, lying on a grave, intervenes, fights off the attackers, and grabs a sari to cover Eswari before driving her home. Eswari is grateful for his courageous act and begins to respect him.

The loss of his lover Esther sends Annadurai spiraling into alcoholism. Karunas later reveals Esther's death to Eswari, unveiling the tragedy that fuels Annadurai's sorrow. This marks the start of his troubled arc.

Annadurai's lookalike brother, Thambidurai, is introduced as a kind-hearted PT master. He falls in love with Revathi, and their relatives begin arranging a potential wedding. This creates a parallel family storyline that mirrors the brothers' paths.

Annadurai secures a loan for his friend Karunas from moneylender Dhayalan, stepping into danger. To help, he shaves his beard to resemble Thambidurai, but Dhayalan discovers the deception after seeing Esther's tattoo on his arm and attacks him.

Amid growing family tension, Annadurai's uncle urges him to reform for his mother's sake. Chitra meets Annadurai and confesses her love, while he resolves to drink just one more day, signaling his inner conflict.

While drunk at a bar, Annadurai gets into a quarrel and kills the bar owner. He is arrested and subsequently sentenced to seven years in prison, ending this volatile chapter of his life.

Seven years later, Annadurai is released and is shocked to see Thambidurai now operating as a town don. His parents reject him, and Karunas reveals what happened during his jail term, altering how the town views both brothers.

Dhayalan cheats Thambidurai's father and seizes their textile showroom, while Thambidurai's fortunes falter due to the town's new criminal climate. The family suffers financially as these plots unfold.

The brother of the deceased bar owner tries to kill Thambidurai, and Revathi's father cancels their engagement out of fear. In retaliation, Thambidurai confronts Dhayalan and severely injures him by breaking his leg.

Karuppiah, a corrupt counsellor, beats Thambidurai and pushes him toward joining his gang. Thambidurai becomes a powerful don under Karuppiah, who acts as a benami for MLA Mahalingam.

Annadurai pressures Dhayalan to return the illegally taken property. He retrieves the property documents and transfers his share to the widow of the bar owner, an act that earns the deceased's brother's reluctant respect.

Karuppiah's murder is set in motion as Thambidurai refuses to kill the student witnesses and turns against Karuppiah. Annadurai disguises himself as Thambidurai to mislead the police, and Eswari discovers the Esther tattoo. The police shoot Annadurai, and he dies as his family mourns; later, Thambidurai marries Revathi.
