Set in the rigid Greek society of the 1960s, an unmarried couple lives together under the pressure of convention. When the man finally decides to marry his long‑time partner, she sheds her previously silent, compliant role and asserts herself as the head of the household. Her sudden dominance unsettles him, leading him to demand a divorce only a few hours after the ceremony.
