The late 1960s saw a nationwide movement for educational reform, sparked by events like the 1968 protests at San Francisco State and the 1969 student union takeover at Cornell University. Demands for Black and ethnic studies programs became a rallying cry for change. Through the experiences of young activists, the film explores the racial tensions on college campuses and throughout the country that fueled these powerful protests, connecting the past to the present and highlighting a pivotal moment in American history.
