The film confronts viewers with unflinching images of 1960s turmoil across Africa, set against a continent‑wide backdrop of upheaval. As nations shed colonial rule, revolutions—especially in Zanzibar and Kenya—sparked massacres that killed thousands. It also shows hunters and poachers slaughtering wildlife, presenting a portrait of widespread violence.
