A young, aspiring writer named Hari lives with his mother in a peaceful countryside setting. The two lonely men share a peculiar pastime: they collect obituary notices, draw them at random, and bet small sums on who picks the notice of the deceased who was older. Through this unusual game, Peter Sir recognizes two men, Shaji and Kuriakose, whose lives and deaths reveal very different stories—one shrouded in mystery and the other touched by romance.
