Thevalli Namboodiri, a renowned astrologer, helps the village trace a string of mishaps to dark magic and tantric kriyas. He identifies Mekkadan Namboodiri as the source of the power wreaking havoc. This discovery pits him against the rival and sets the stage for a long confrontation between old loyalties and occult forces.

Thevalli goes to meet Mekkadan to warn him, but Mekkadan dismisses his words and proclaims that his illicit son—born of a low-caste woman—will become his disciple. The revelation alarms Thevalli, who fears the consequences for both his own family and the village. The tension deepens the rift between the two Namboodiri families.

Thevalli resolves to teach both his legitimate son Vishnu and his illicit son Ananthan the three Vedas, guided by his mentor Thirumeni. The dual education is intended to illuminate both youths and curb the spread of dark arts. This decision marks the beginning of a fateful shared destiny for the brothers.

During the Upanayanam ceremony for Thevalli’s legitimate son, he unexpectedly sees Ananthan among the attendees. The moment confirms the intertwined destinies of the two brothers and strengthens Thevalli’s resolve to educate both. The revelation deepens family tensions and foreshadows later conflicts.

Ananthan rises as a master of the Vedas and tantric painting, sharpening his formidable power. He also falls in love with Putthedan Namboodiri’s daughter, a union that faces strong opposition from Putthedan. The combination of spiritual mastery and forbidden romance foreshadows tragedy.

In a public prasnam, Putthedan humiliates Ananthan for his birth. Ananthan leaves the gathering in anger, and Mekkadan follows, inviting him to study Atharvaveda at a more accepting place. The insult fuels Ananthan’s determination to prove himself and deepens the rift between the two families.

Putthedan drags away his daughter and beats Ananthan, setting fire to Ananthan’s house. The blaze traps and kills Ananthan’s elderly mother, a trauma that intensifies his hunger for vengeance. The personal loss solidifies his turn toward the dark path.

Seeking revenge, Ananthan aligns with Mekkadan and retreats to a remote location to practice dark magic. He becomes more deeply entrenched in tantric power, planning to unleash havoc on the village. The partnership marks a turning point toward catastrophic consequences.

Mekkadan dies, but Ananthan continues his studies, and the village begins to suffer from severe calamities and deaths caused by his growing powers. He wields his magic to control the surrounding tribes and keep the area under a fragile peace. The community slides toward disaster as fear and superstition spread.

Ponni, the tribal chief’s daughter, offers herself to Ananthan. He maintains celibacy, but uses Ponni to perform advanced Abhichara Karma, strengthening his hold over others. This act exemplifies his escalating manipulation and moral decay.

Thevalli sends his younger son Vishnu to confront his elder brother and deter him from destroying the village. Vishnu and friends travel to the forest near Ananthan’s house, where the local tribals refuse to help and Ananthan warns them away. The confrontation foreshadows a larger clash of powers.

Ultimately, Ananthan seeks the Devi idol’s blessing, is struck down by lightning as the mansion burns, and Vishnu and Usha are saved by the Goddess.
